Privacy policy

Last updated October 22, 2026

This page is drafted and awaiting the owner's review before it goes live. It describes what this website does today; it is not legal advice.

This policy explains how Shortlen ("we") handles information sent through shortlen.com.

What we collect

When you send the contact form we receive what you type: your name, email address, and, if you give them, your company, phone number and message. We also record the page you sent it from, the language of that page, the site that referred you, any campaign tags in the link, the country your connection comes from, your browser's user agent, and a one-way code made from your IP address and the date. We use that code only to limit repeated sends; we do not keep your IP address.

If you sign up to use the Shortlen shortening service itself, we also collect the account details needed to run it: your email address, a password or sign-in credential, the short links you create, and the destinations, click counts and basic click metadata (such as approximate location, device type and referrer) attached to those links. This policy covers that account and usage data as well as the contact form.

Why we use it

To reply to you, to provide and maintain the Shortlen service you have signed up for, to keep the form and the service free of abuse, and to meet basic accounting and security obligations. We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing or advertising purposes. We do not use it for advertising.

Who sees it

We do not sell your information and we do not share it with third parties, except where needed to run Shortlen itself. That includes the infrastructure, hosting and email providers we use to deliver the website and the shortening service, who process data on our behalf under their own security commitments, and cases where we are required to disclose information to comply with the law.

Where it is kept and for how long

Messages are stored with our hosting provider, Cloudflare, and arrive in our email inbox. As a default policy, we keep contact-form messages for 24 months and then delete them; this period has not yet been separately confirmed by Shortlen and may be adjusted. If you hold an active Shortlen account, we keep your account and link data for as long as the account is open, and for a reasonable period afterward in case you wish to reactivate it, before deleting it.

Cookies and checks

This website sets no tracking cookies of its own. If the form shows a Cloudflare Turnstile check, Cloudflare processes the information that check needs under its own privacy policy. If you sign in to use the Shortlen service, we use strictly necessary cookies or similar technology to keep you signed in and to keep the service secure; we do not use these for advertising.

Your choices

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by writing to sales@shortlen.com. If you have an Shortlen account, you can also ask us to close it and remove the data attached to it.

Changes

When this policy changes we update the date at the top of this page.
