Build on the link platform

Everything you can do in the dashboard, you can do from code. Shortlen is powered by BN Shortener's API: shorten and manage links, read analytics, make QR codes, run safety checks and more. The full reference, with examples in several languages, lives at b1.lc/docs.

bash
curl https://b1.lc/api/v1/links \

  -d domain="go.yourbrand.com"

How your code talks to the platform

Call the REST API to create and manage links, read analytics and generate QR codes; the platform sends signed webhooks back to your systems when events happen. The hosted MCP server and the bn CLI are two more ways in.

Your app / code backend, scripts, jobs bn CLI terminal & CI Hosted MCP server for AI assistants REST API POST /links · GET /links GET /analytics · GET /qr request JSON response Your systems your webhook endpoint signed webhook on events: click · scan monitor · conversion
Your app, the bn CLI and the hosted MCP server call the REST API; it answers with JSON. Separately, the platform POSTs signed webhooks to your endpoint on events like click, scan, monitor and conversion. SDKs and a Zapier app are coming soon.

The REST API

One API covers links, analytics, QR codes, bio pages, campaigns and security, described by an OpenAPI file with real request and response examples.

Full coverage

All plans

Create, read, update and delete links; read clicks and breakdowns; manage QR codes, bio pages, campaigns and domains — the same actions the dashboard offers. Browse the reference.

Authentication

All plans

Scoped API keys (read, write, delete, webhooks) you can rotate and limit by IP or country, plus OAuth 2.1 for apps that act for other people.

Rate limits that grow

All plans

Per-minute limits rise with your plan, from the Free tier up to high-volume Enterprise, and every response carries rate-limit headers.

Safe to automate

All plans

Idempotency keys make writes safe to retry, list endpoints page and sort, and bulk endpoints create or update many links in one call.

React to events with webhooks

Have your own systems respond the moment something happens to a link.

Signed webhooks

All plans

Get a signed, verifiable webhook when a link is clicked, a QR code is scanned, a monitor opens an incident, a conversion is counted and more.

Reliable delivery

All plans

Each delivery is signed with HMAC and retried with growing delays; you can redeliver any event from the log and send test events.

Tools you can use today

Ready to install or connect right now.

MCP server for AI assistants

Available now

Connect Claude, Cursor or VS Code to the hosted MCP server at b1.lc/mcp and create, check and report on links in plain language — with your own account's permissions.

Command line

Available now

The bn command-line tool shortens links, runs checks and pulls stats from your terminal or CI. Download it at b1.lc/cli/bn.

Browser extension and WordPress

Download now

Shorten the page you're on from your browser, or shorten posts automatically in WordPress. Both are available as downloads today; the store and plugin-directory listings are coming soon.

Coming soon

Built and on the way — we'll list each one here the day it's published.

Official SDKs

Coming soon

Python and TypeScript SDKs are built and tested; the published packages are on the way. Until then, the REST API works from any language.

Automation apps

Coming soon

A Zapier app, n8n nodes, a Slack app and a GitHub Action are in progress for no-code and CI workflows.
